Your PDFs deserve better than a shoebox
ChockaDocs is a modern, native macOS document manager. Drop in your PDFs, Word files and scans, let it fill in the details, organise with collections and tags, and search everything—no cloud, no subscriptions, no compromises.
Built by someone who loved Paperless
Your data stays yours
Local-first. Everything lives on your Mac. No cloud, no sync, no subscriptions. You own it completely.
Modern native design
Built for macOS. Fast, beautiful, and genuinely a pleasure to use every day.
One-time purchase
No subscription trap. Buy once, own forever. Updates come free, because we said so.
Paperless, reimagined
Import your entire library in one step. All tags, collections, metadata, and OCR text come along for the ride.
Everything you need, nothing you don't
It does the paperwork
ChockaDocs reads each new document on your Mac and fills in the date, issuer, amount, tax and currency. It only fills empty fields, and a sparkle shows where each one came from.
Summaries and tag suggestions
One plain sentence per document, written on-device. Up to two suggested tags, marked with a sparkle—remove one and it stays removed.
Collections, tags, smart searches
Manual and automatic organisation. Drag and drop. Saved searches that update on their own.
Search inside everything
Text recognition on your Mac makes scans, PDFs and Word files searchable, in-app and in Spotlight. Snippets show why a document matched.
Receipts, statements, certificates
Track amount, tax, currency and payment status. Statements get their period; issuers get their ABN, NZBN or VAT number and contact details.
PDFs, Word files and scans
PDF, Word, RTF, text and images in one library, each kept in its own format. Rotate Upright fixes a wrong-way-up scan in one click.
Watch Folder
Point your scanner at a folder and ChockaDocs imports whatever lands there, then moves the originals to the Bin once they're safely saved.
Grid and Table, light and dark
A Photos-style toolbar, Overview or Split View layouts, and a look that follows your Mac's appearance. Pages stay on white paper.
Fully sandboxed
Runs with minimal permissions. Nothing leaves your Mac. Move your library anywhere with security-scoped bookmarks.
